Yesterday, Sunday, I took Latha to her first Shishubharati class at Lexington High School. The place was crowded. The person in charge was a gentleman by the name of Dilip Gandhi. After the inevitable introduction and listing of instructions, the children were sent off to their classes. Each child spends an hour in a "culture" class, and an hour in a language class. Classes are set up so that you have to pick one language and go with it. We registered Latha for Tamil but we are considering switching her to Hindi.
We returned home around 1.20 p.m., had lunch. Around 3.00 p.m. I hit the bed and napped for about an hour. By then Chaur had arrived on a surprise visit. We had chai, then we went out to The Home Depot to return some landscape edging Appa and I had purchased. I bought four pieces of a different type of edging in order to complete a circle that Appa had started around a tree. We also went to the Indian store and lamented the high price of rice.
After dinner, Charu went back home. I got started on my emails. Worked for about 3 hours before sleeping.
